A George III mahogany and satinwood inlaid longcase clock with oval dial, early 19th century
The elaborately inlaid case with angled cluster columns to the hood, conforming pilasters flanking the trunk door and fluted canted angles to the plinth, the Roman and Arabic dial with dot minute track, subsidiary seconds ring and arched date aperture, blued steel hands, painted with globes below the rolling moon, signed W. ELLIS WREXHAM, false plate stamped WALKER & FINNEMORE to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, later seatboard -- 90½ in. (230 cm.) high
