The case with handle to the inverted bell top, glazed sides, later handle to front door, gilt-brass quarter frets, the dial with silvered plaque bearing signature Jam.s Lloyd London, the matted centre with date and mock pendulum aperture (covered), silvered chapter ring, pierced blued steel hands, female mask-and-foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch (lacking connecting work), the eight day twin wire fusee movement with five pillars, now with anchor escapement, strike on a bell, foliate engraved backplate, secured to the case with bolt and turn catches; case circa 1760, dial and movement later and associated -- 19½ in. (49 cm.) high, handle folded
