LATE 1870'S TILT-HEADED RACKET
ash-head, walnut throat, mahogany overlay on handle, leather band at top of handle, original leather head protector. Three section stringing, strung in natural gut, each cross string wound around main string creating a rough and smooth surface on either side of racket. Strings have been hand dyed to give three colour effect of red, black and yellow (possibly "I Zingari" colours). AN EXTREMELY RARE RACKET.
