An American oak calendar shelf clock
the case with arched moulded pediment above stylised flowerhead mount and radial incisions, with dentil cornice, moulded and chamfered sides, the front with radial fluting, on rising rectangular base, the white-painted Roman dial with spade hands inscribed PAT. DEC 28th 1875, with further white-painted calendar dial below with day and month apertures and crescent moon hand, inscribed Patented Feb. 15, 1876. (some chipping to both dials), with paper label to the interior for the Seth. Thomas Clock Co.,, the typical movement with strike on bell, early 20th century -- 29¼in.(74cm.) high
