the case with swan neck pediment applied with fluted giltwood roundels, outset fluted columns to the hood, dentil cornice below, conforming pilasters to the trunk with wavy-topped door, on plinth with pierced and scrolling apron, the brass dial with pierced mask and scroll spandrels, with brass chapter ring signed Bridge Wigan, matted centre with regulation ring and calendar aperture, with painted scene to the arch, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, movement and dial associated -- 86½in.(219cm.) high
