the arched case with urn finial with ring handles, stiff leaf cast cornice and trailing foliate mounts to the corners, the canted part-fluted angles mounted with scroll supports terminating in female mask feet, on angled breakfront base with inset panels of pierced trellis work, with bevelled glass panels, the off-white Arabic enamel dial within egg-and-tongue bezel, with recessed visible Brocot escapement, the twin going barrel movement with strike on gong, with mercury pendulum, French, last quarter 19th century -- 20½in.(52cm.) high
