(410 x 560mm.) Title in Latin and Dutch, rhumb lines, elaborate compass rose, scale-bar. (Margins extended to size, very light wear at folds, a few minor restored tears, light dampstain lower left).
Van Langren's remarkable map of India, Persia and the Middle East, included in Linschoten's Navigatio ac Itinerarium in 1596. Highly decorative, it is also an accurate sea chart, the coastlines taken from the latest voyages and Portuguese charts. Tibbetts 46.
