signed Newton & Son Ltd Cambourne Cornwall, with twin cross-hair and pinhole sights (hairs missing) mounted on a cross-bar with bubble level atop the vertical half-circle with stamped 100-0-100° scale, vernier, finescrew adjustment and clamp, over the 6-inch diameter glazed compass with (associated) brass cover, brushed-steel face, eight compass points initialled, 1-360° circumference scale, edgebar needle and clamp, with two viewing windows and verniers for an enclosed 1-360° scale, with two bubble levels, finescrew adjustment and clamp, raised on a staff mounting with finescrew adjustment and clamp, together with an aluminium, brass, oak and mahogany tripod with telescopic legs
