the teapot, of typical form with spout, fixed bail handle with lignum vitæ handle and top, nesting on a fitted burner tray rising up on four legs which also support an oil burner with wick and snuffing device. The teapot engraved with with "From The Wardroom/of the/U.S.S. McKean"
12¼ x 11¼ in. (31.1 x 28.6 cm.)

Lot Essay

probably from the USS McKean, DD 90, a 1060-ton Wickes-class destroyer built at San Francisco, California and commissioned in February 1919.
