An early 20th century U.S. Life Saving Service bronze cannon mounted on wooden sled.
circa 1906
the barrel, blunt and un-tapered, with a flair at the mid section to the butt end, marked on the end of the barrel RIW/No.731/1906/O.C.H and on the end of one pivot pin "US LSS". On a wood sled base with hasp latches for the pivot pins, steel bound around the circumference of each side of the sled, 2 carrying handles on each side
