The flat cover finely cast on the top with three pairs of writhing three-clawed dragons, one pair chasing a flaming pearl, the other two pairs fighting with each other, the scales of each carefully rendered in different patterns, on a ground of finely incised cloud scrolls, the sides with confronting kuilong on a seeded ground, the interior of the cover with the incised nianhao, the box with a convex base, the sides pierced with a stylised lotus scroll, compartments missing
