An armorial lacquer games box and cover bearing the arms of King Carlos III of Spain (reigned 1759-88)
of oblong octagonal form, set on four carved ivory feet, decorated in black and gold lacquer with a central coat of arms bearing the motto 'Plus Vitra', amongst scenes of figures in riverside gardens, within borders of scrolling flowers and foliage, the interior containing seven boxes and covers and twelve trays similarly decorated, two of the trays decorated with the king and queen of diamonds -- 16¾in. (42.5cm) long.
