A small underglaze blue and yellow enamelled censer, 16th century
the compressed body decorated to either side in underglaze blue with winged dragons chasing flaming pearls flanked by a pair of large elephant-head handles, a stylised leaf band to the waisted foot, all against an egg-yolk yellow enamelled ground, underglaze blue Xuande six-character mark to base -- 2 7/8in. (7.4cm.) high.
