AN EDO-HIGO TSUBA
Unsigned, Edo Period (19th Century)
An iron Edo-Higo tsuba with a large fan-shaped ryohitsu, the plate richly decorated in gold nunomezogan with kiri, scrolling tendrils and a chevron border; an oval iron tsuba, stylised kotobuki characters in yosukashi, and two kiku in jisukashi, signed Bushu Ju Nin Akasaka Tadatoki, late 18th Century
