The blade honzukuri, iorimune, toriizori with o-kissaki with a wide mihaba and thin kasane, forging pattern itame hada with ji-nie, tempered edge gunome-komidare hamon of nie, chu-maru boshi, atobori bohi ni soebi, o-suriage nakago, 62.6cm., in an inscribed shirasaya

Lot Essay

The 'Soden Bizen' sugata of this blade, which was once very much longer, seems to suggest a 14th century date would be more appropriate.
