Signed Fujiwara Kuniyuki, Edo Period (17th Century)
The blade honzukuri, iroe mune, extremely shallow sori in Kanbun shinto style, chu-kissake, itame hada with jinie, gonome midare hamon of nioi of scattered nie with sunagashi, ko-maru boshi, ubu nakago, 85.5cm.; in shirasaya with a black ishime saya with extended iron kojure and tsunagi, plain iron fuchi-kashira, Nanban tsuba and iron menuki formed as Chinese halberds, 19th century

The sword accompanied by a Hozon Token [Sword Worthy of Preserving] certificate no.356687, 2 May 2000. The scabbard accompanied by a Hozon Tosogu [Sword Fitting Worthy of Preserving] certificate no.439727, 28 February 2000. Both certificates issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword].
