During this time bark painting was at it's height in Galiwin'ke with the artists being supported by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies in Canberra. The Galiwin'ke paintings depict Dhuwa Stories and have been painted by senior ritual leaders of Dhuwa clans, except for Liwukang, a Yirritya Warramirri clan leader who was granted permission by his mother to paint this Dhuwa version.
