One of only three prototypes believed to have been made circa 1958. The camera featured a coupled rangefinder and coupled selenium meter. According to a company brochure: 'There was also an attempt to test the market for the ultrasmall 16mm still camera. But the Makinette 16 was ahead of its time (the was 14 years before the No. 110 pocket camera wave) and Plaubel eventually could not free the production capacity to make it but sold the design and rights'.

It is likely that the cost of producing a finely engineered and complex camera in 16mm. was prohobitively expensive to justify production.

One example is known to have been sold in Germany.
