Lot Essay

The present figure relates to three figures, each representing the seasons, signed by Quellinus (b.1625-d.1700), in the Rijksmuseum and illustrated in Beeldhouwkunst in het Rijksmuseum, 1973, cat.no. 338, p.251-2. The figure of Winter also with an owl to the base.
