Lot Essay

A fender of identical design is illustrated in a 1927 Catalogue of brass issued by the Birmingham firm of Pearson-Page. The company produced a wide range of brassware and related pieces from the early 20th century. The present fender appears in section 39 Pierced Brass Antique Fenders or Kerbs, page 8, No.2971. The 5 ft. version costing £27/-/- with bottom plate.
