Lacquered in gold and silver hiramaki-e and nashiji against a roiro-nuri ground with herons in a stream with waterplants on the top surface and the sides of the case formed as hand drums (tsuzumi) lacquered with grape vines in the style of Kodaiji lacquer wares; the set comprising a four-tier cylindrical stacking food container and a lobed sake flask both carved with concentric rings and lacquered at the joins of the tiers with floral scroll, the neck of the sake flask designed with a chysanthemum; a quatrefoil food tray set on low feet and painted with a flower bouquet in the interior; brass carrying handle
