A Blue and White Porcelain Dish
Choson period (19th century)
Circular, set on a raised circular foot and decorated in underglaze blue with auspicious imagery, the shallow interior painted with a central su (longevity) character surrounded by a vivid landscape of sail boats against a backdrop of mountains and clouds, the underside of the dish decorated with six su characters alternating with six pok (good fortune) characters below a band of scrolling foliage within slender lines, a double-ring of cobalt encircling the foot; the dish also applied with a blue-tinged transparent glaze overall save the foot rim, stroke of underglaze-blue within recessed base
