Grete Prytz Korsmo, or Prytz Kittelsen, as she was known after her marriage, studied in Oslo and at Chicago's Institute of Design. In 1945 she joined the Tostrup workshop designing enamel pieces, thereby stepping into her father and grandfather's footsteps who had helped to establish the Norwegian tradition of enamelling. Prytz Korsmo was awarded the Lunning prize in 1953 and a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale.
