Quarter veneered and banded throughout, the porcelain mounts depicting cherubs, the superstructure with a pair of doors enclosing a shelf and two fitted drawers, below above a serpentine baize lined writing slide and a further drawer on square cabriole legs with foliate and mask mounts and rockwork sabot feet, bearing a paper label to the underside 'ALPHONSE GIROUX & Cie No 7, Rue du Coq St Honore, Paris' and inscribed by hand 'X578'
