Lot Essay

Marcus Aurelis (AD 161-180) was almost constantly troubled during his reign by various war mongering Germanic tribes along the European borders and the resurgence of the Parthian Empire in the East, from the Iranian Plateau. While on campaign between 170 and 180, Aurelius wrote his Meditations as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement.
