Wilm
In 1767, Gottfried Ludwich Wilm left his native Hamburg to move to Berlin. As a resultof Frederick the Great's interest in the arts and crafts, the artistic realm of the Prussian Capital was thriving. At the age of twenty-one, Wilm opened his first workshop in the Jerusalemerstrasse creating objects in the Baroque and Roccoco styles and later those of the Classical and the Empire. His son, Heinrich Ludwig Wilm, was named jeweller to the king. After the Second World War, the firm moved to Hamburg and became known for their highly flexible jewellery of excellent quality. They received many extraodinary commissions such as the resetting of the Wittelsbach Diamond and the Savoy Emerald. Today, the seventh generation runs the firm with locations at 26 Ballindamm in Hamburg and on Kampen Syit Island.
