Lot Essay

The vendors, they became good friends with P.J. Proby during the mid 1980s when they owned a pub in Todmorden, Yorkshire, which the singer used to frequent. This was a difficult time in Proby's life and the vendors were extremely supportive, forging a strong friendship with the singer. When they decided to move away some years later, Proby arranged a leaving party for them during which he presented them with a selection of his personal property as a memento of their friendship.
