Tang dynasty
Five seated musicians similarly dressed in long sleeved tunics decorated with orange flowers, tunics falling in graceful folds around their bodies, seated in a kneeling position and holding an instrument, a lute, a flute, a pair of cymbals, a qin, a panflute, a mouthorgan their hair tied in double knots, traces of white slip, black, red, grey and orange pigment, some restoration; and two female dancers, in elegantly moving position, wearing flowing outer garments, belted at the waist and dramatically flared sleeves, the hair tied in a double knot, traces of white slip, grey, black, red, orange pigment, some restoration
