W. H. Bernard was the son of T. Bernard of Jamaica and brother of Susanna, wife of W. Campbell.

Lady Firebrace was born Bridget Bacon, daughter of Philip Bacon of Ipswich. She married three times and her 2nd Husband was Sir Cardell Firebrace, 3rd Bt. M.P. of Melford Hall, Long Melford, Suffolk. Her 3rd marriage was to William Campbell of Lyston Hall, Essex.
