Charles James Fox was born on 24th January, 1749. After being educated at Eton and Oxford University, his long political career began at the age of twenty, when he was elected to represent Midhurst in the House of Commons.

Fox went on to hold various positions under a number of administrations, including Junior Lord of the Admiralty, Lord of the Treasury and Foreign Secretary.

He died on 13 September 1806, and was buried at Westminster Abbey, next to his political arch-enemy, William Pitt the Younger.
