The sides and spreading pedestal foot of the ewer cast with taotie masks reserved on a leiwen ground and separated by flanges at the corners, with bands of long-tailed birds below the mouth rim, the loop handle surmounted by a horned mask and with a scrolled tail below, with a six-character inscription cast in the base of the interior, the cover with two large taotie masks below the twisted ends of the dividing flanges
