A RARE MASSIVE LONGQUAN CELADON CARVED CHARGER
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
Of unusually large size, the center carved with a flower head encircled by lotus meander, below babao carved in the petal-fluted well, each of the eight 'precious objects' repeated and positioned above a 'lotus base', with foliate scroll carved on the top of the barbed rim and again on the underside above sixteen flower sprays, covered overall with a glaze of deep sea-green color except for a ring on the base burnt orange in the firing
