Pierre Usseglio
Up and coming and adding new cuvées, Pierre Usseglio is a producer to watch and collect with internationally styled wines that are alcoholic and massive, yet with amazingly smooth texture and grace. The Cuvée de Mon Aieul is 85 Grenache with the remainder Syrah and Mouvedre, of course, and a notable amount of Cinsault providing some nerve and swerve to the final blend that is aged half in neutral oak foudres and half in tank. The Deux Frères is split between neutral oak and used Burgundy barrels, while the rare Cinquantenaire is 100 Grenache aged in large old barrels.
