LOKOYA
Lokoya, commencing auspiciously with the 1994 vintage, is a special small 3,000 case operation dedicated solely to high-elevation Cabernet Sauvignon, expressed through four cuvées: a densely structured, yet perfumy Mount Veeder, an earthy and mineral driven Howell Mountain, the pure plummy fruit of the voluptuous Rutherford and, not lastly, the depth, dark fruit and concentration of the showy flagship, Diamond Mountain. All the wines are aged 22 months in 100 new French oak with neither fining nor filtration, by wine maker Marco di Giulo. The different cuvées share incredible weight, richness and balance finely detailed with terroir nuances.
