"I first came across this at Eigensatz's 1990s tasting in Luzern. It sounds rather affected, like Americans pronouncing herbs as 'erbs - all very French I'm sure. It was opaque, intense and rich; low-keyed but earthy (not 'h'earthy) and distinctive; sweetish, full-bodied, very good fruit and flavour. I gave it a higher mark for palate than nose, and higher than the Château Pétrus. Tasted blind, June 1996 *****. MB, Vintage Wine.
