Lot Essay

Volume I contains a loosely-inserted one page letter from Churchill's personal private secretary, dated 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, 6th April 1955, to Douglas Rees, stating that: "Sir Winston Churchill has been very pleased to sign the copy of The Gathering Storm for your son." Churchill resigned as Prime Minister on 5th April.
