the second inscribed and dated 'Temple at/Durhas/april 23rd/1861' (lower left) and further inscribed 'They objected *** to let me come and sketch this/as it is a holy place. The watched me well that/I did not do any damage. I suppose about 40 people/watched me. The ground is all flat stones with/gra[p]? growing between' on a label attatched to the reverse
