Illustration to the 10th book of the Bhagavata Purana, gouache on paper, Krishna with cow-herds in the forest, remains of yellow margins, incomplete at edges, areas of flaking, inscribed on back with extensive Sanskrit verses, and a PAGE FROM A JAIN MANUSCRIPT of the Kalpa Sutra, West Indian, 1470-80, gouache heightened with gold on paper, 9 lines of devanagari surrounded by smaller similar script, one side showing Indra descended from his throne and kneeling with two hands raised in adoration of Mahavira whom he percieves on earth, mounted
7½ x 10in. (19 x 25.cm.); and 4¼ x 10¼ in. (11 x 25.7cm.)
