EVELYN WAUGH (1903-1966)
An autograph postcard of 10 lines, signed: "E," from Combe Florey House, Nr. Taunton, [postmarked 21. Sept. 195?], to Francis Beaufort Palmer Esq., stating: "Can't tell you whether Peter Raffer was originally 'Godfrey'. I suppose him to have been a jew. Shirehampton is now a suburb of Bristol ... King's Weston looked sadly neglected when I last saw it. Yes the index entry of Desmond is wrong -- only one alas of countless misprints and mistakes" (some staining). With another of 5 lines, signed: "E.," from Piers Court, Stinchcombe, Dursley, Gloucestershire, [postmarked 1 June 1956], to Palmer, stating: "I have a daughter going up to Oxford in October so I hope soon to revive memories there. I seldom go to London these days -- scared of Teddy Boys" (ink stamped). With another inscribed postcard and a full-length seated postcard photograph of Waugh. (4)
