A Neo-Grec Style patinated bronze and black marble gueridon
Attributed to G. Servant, Paris, Last quarter 19th Century
The circular inset black marble top supported by a herm, on square base cast with foliate branches, on scrolling acanthus feet
31¾ in. (81 cm.) high; 16½ in. (42 cm.) diameter

Lot Essay

With premises in Paris at 137, rue Vieille-du-Temple, the fondeur G. Servant specialized in Greek and Egyptian Revival pieces and was a medallist at the major international exhibitions between 1867 and 1887.
