Broadsheets. Letterpress title, list of plates, and 100 photographic plates (some chipping at edges, collectors inkstamp "RB" with anchor in corner of each). Laid loose as issued in half cloth portfolio (defective).

An excellent photographic record of the main buildings of the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, originally issued in parts. The photogravure plates are almost all of architectural details, particularly of the French-designed buildings such as the Grand and Petit Palais on the Champs-Elysées and of the overblown baroque pavilions at the Invalides and Champs de Mars sites. There are also illustrations of the national pavilions, all but that of Sweden designed in vernacular styles appropriate to the individual countries (the British pavilion, in Jacobean style, was designed by Lutyens).
