From magnum: Richly textured, saturated color. Wonderfully complex aromas! An intoxicating mixture of cedar and tobacco leaf, all of which was dominated by fruit aromas. A very youthful and if served blindly, deceptive, evolution given its age. A classic Latour attack: masculine and firm. Excellent balance, rich extraction. Flavors follow through with leather, cedar spice. It is so good! In time, eucalyptus pops up on the nose and finish. Best version ever tasted. As Coates would say, "Bags of life." Again from bottle: holding up extremely well, great color, delicious fruit, excellent structure - wrinkles ironed out with age - tea leaves, tobacco like finish with prunes and fruit. Terrific condition. September-October 2003. ST
