MARK OF MARTIN HALL & CO, SHEFFIELD, 1863
Baluster form on a circular foot, heavily chased overall with foliate swags, bell flowers and scrolls on matted ground and two cartouches, the body with applied animal mask and winged caryatids, the handle in the form of a caryatid holding aloft a vase with artichoke finial, one cartouche engraved with a crest, the other inscribed A.T.D.CROSLEY, from his wife on her birthday, April 13th 1864 - 15¾in. (40cm.) high, 49oz.
