THE COLLECTION OF THE LATE ALGY SINCLAIR FOREWORD Algy Sinclair (1924 - 2005) was the leading expert on Skybirds, although his innate modesty would probably have made him share the plaudit with David Hughes, who sadly just predeceased Algy. As the author of 'Skybird Notes', he brought endless pleasure to many Skyleaguers, as well as many younger enthusiasts. Above all, he was a kind and genial gentleman, much adored by family and friends, as well as his old pupils from King's College School, Wimbledon. Like many Skyleaguers, he served with distinction in the RAF as a pilot officer between 1942 and 1946, only discussing his wartime career with the self-effacement of the truly brave.
