Of rectangular form with hinged coved cover, the interior opening to reveal a front tinned compartment with four inkwells and shakers and a rear covered compartment for pens and writing implements, the brown exterior painted with meandering light blue ribbons linking floral sprays and bouquets, the light blue interior of the cover with the tughra of Sultan Mahmud II within oval cartouche with floral details, together with A GROUP OF OTTOMAN WRITING ACCESSORIES comprising three knives for trimming blades, each with walrus ivory shaft, a further knife blade, a polished agate tool with wooden handle for burnishing paper, and three other items
