A set of six Japanese Arita blue and white 'Van Frytom' plates
MID 18TH CENTURY
Painted after a Dutch Delft original in the manner of Frederik van Frytom, the pattern traditionally also known as 'Scheveningen' or 'Deshima Island', depicting three figures and a bull in the foreground of various buildings around a harbour, all within a moulded washed-blue, wave-pattern border on the everted rim
