With nickel-finished lever movement, wolf's tooth winding, bi-metallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two gongs activated by a slide in the band, gold cuvette with presentation inscription, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, four subsidiary dials indicating day, month, date combined with constant seconds and phases and ages of the moon, heavy polished monogrammed case with coin-edged bezels, case, cuvette, dial and movement

Lot Essay

Accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming the date of manufacture as 1891 and its subsequent sale on September 20, 1893.

The commemorative engraving on the cuvette, in French, records the groundbreaking of the Gassincourt Factory on April 15, 1891 and its subsequent opening on May 1st of the following year. The inscription further contains a tender acknowledgment from Jacques Braunstein to his brother Maurice.
