With nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, adjusted to 3 positions, black matte dial with applied baton numerals with luminescent accents, luminescent hands, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour register, outer ring calibrated for tachometer, tonneau water-resistant-type case, two round chronograph buttons in the band, screw-down crown and screw back, case, dial and movement signed, with stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and deployant clasp
36mm diam.

Lot Essay

The reference 6238 is the immediate predecessor of reference 6239, the first Cosmograph Daytona released by Rolex. It was made in stainless steel and 18K gold, as well as a small series in 14K gold destined for the North American market.
