Sir George Cockburn (1772-1853) Admiral of the Fleet first went to sea at the age of nine. His full naval career encompassed the capture of Washington and later the transport of Napoleon Bonaparte to St. Helena. A detailed biography of Admiral Cockburn accompanies this lot.
