indistinctly signed on the arc F. Wiggins & Co. and engraved on the back with the instrument number 1516, the frame with seven shades, mirrors and adjustable telescope mounting with stabilizer sliding bars, the index arm 9½in. (24.2cm.) radius with vernier, magnifier with shield, tangent-screw fine adjustment with clamp, the stand with folding tripod, one short and two long pillars supporting the axis for the adjustable counter weight, the sextant mounting with tangent-screw adjustment and two pins with knurled beep nuts arranged to locate with the mahogany frame handle, with four telescopes, two mercury jars and artificial horizon signed Berge, Late Ramsden, in fitted mahogany case -- 18in. (45.7cm.) wide
